Phil Wilson announces re-election bid for Rutherford County Commission (mainstreetmediatn.com) — Residents in western Smyrna should know that Phil Wilson is seeking re-election to represent District 10 on the Rutherford County Commission, which includes their neighborhoods. He highlights school construction and expansions at Smyrna High School, plus support for public safety and growth management. Wilson and his family are also active with the Rotary Club of Smyrna and a local Smyrna church.
   

2. Health Professionals Boards Disciplinary Actions for October 2025 (williamsonsource.com) — State health regulators have imposed serious penalties on a Smyrna pharmacist and a Smyrna pharmacy after inspections found unattended operations and other safety violations, including issues with controlled substances. The report also lists disciplinary actions against other Middle Tennessee healthcare professionals, and residents can check license statuses and sanctions through the Tennessee Department of Health’s website.
   

3. Murfreesboro area TSSAA football players who earned all-region awards (dnj.com) — Smyrna High football players earned multiple spots on this year’s Murfreesboro-area TSSAA all-region teams, including co-Defensive Lineman of the Year Jerry Martin. Local standouts Za’rin Butler, Rylan German, Noah Jaeger, Will McKnight, Daylyn Sanders, and Sucory Weathers were all recognized, giving Smyrna fans plenty to celebrate from the 2025 season.
   

4. With Ford And Renault Working Together, Nissan Could Be Next (fordauthority.com) — Nissan’s Smyrna plant could play a key role if a rumored Ford–Nissan partnership moves forward, potentially building a new hybrid model alongside the Rogue. While plans are still speculative, any deal could mean more production — and possibly jobs and investment — tied directly to Smyrna’s massive Nissan facility.
