• New programs to help repair, replace homes damaged by Helene (wate.com) — Unicoi residents whose homes were damaged by Hurricane Helene can now apply for new USDA programs that offer up to $44,000 for repairs or full financing for replacement housing. Clinch-Powell is helping applicants in Unicoi County navigate income limits, documentation, and eligibility so families can move from temporary housing into safe, permanent homes.
   

• Tennessee Agriculture Commissioner Awards Grants to 22 Farm and Forest Businesses (williamsonsource.com) — A Unicoi County business, Dark Hollow Aerial Ag Services, has been awarded a state Agricultural Enterprise Fund grant to grow its agricultural technology work. The funding is part of a statewide package supporting 22 farm and forest operations and could help bring more innovation and investment to local agriculture. Another grant round closes Jan. 10, 2026.
