12 TX High School Grads To Play In Super Bowl 59

TEXAS — Some extremely familiar Texas names are on the roster in Sunday’s Super Bowl LIX between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.

Twelve of the players on the 53-man rosters got their start in playing high school football in Texas, according to High School Football America.

Kansas City Chiefs

• #34 Samaje Perine – RB – Hendrickson, TX
• #90 Charles Omenihu – DE – Rowlett, TX

Philadelphia Eagles

• #1 Jalen Hurts – QB – Channelview, TX
• #10 Braden Mann – P – Cy-Fair, TX
• #36 Tristin McCollum – S – Ball (Galveston, TX)
• #38 Lewis Cine – DB – Trinity Christian Academy (Cedar Hill, TX)
• #65 Lane Johnson – T – Groveton, TX
• #82 Ainias Smith – WR – Dulles (Sugar Land, TX)
• #93 Milton Williams – DT – Crowley, TX
• #97 Moro Ojomo – DT – Katy, TX

Overall, high school athletes from 31 different states, plus Australia will be represented when the Chiefs and Eagles battle for the Vince Lombardi Trophy for the second time in the last three years.

Florida has 14 former players (10 for Philadelphia, four for Kansas City) slated to play in America’s biggest football game.

Texas has the second most with 12 (eight for Philadelphia, four for Kansas City).
