The flights were a coordinated operation to enforce U.S. immigration laws in alignment with President Donald Trump's executive orders.

TEXAS — The U.S. Coast Guard on Wednesday began conducting "alien expulsion" flights between California and Texas as part of a coordinated operation to enforce U.S. immigration laws in line with President Donald Trump's executive orders.
The flights, led by the Eleventh Coast Guard District in California, are part of a larger effort involving several Coast Guard units and managed by the Department of Homeland Security.
The Coast Guard said its role in the operation is to help transport people to facilities in Texas and California, where the Department of Defense will handle their removal from the country.

The operation aims to stop individuals trying to enter the U.S. illegally, including unauthorized migrants, drug traffickers, and potential security threats, officials said.
"Through these ongoing operations, the Coast Guard is detecting, deterring and interdicting aliens, drug smugglers and individuals intent on terrorism or other hostile activity before they reach the U.S. border," the military branch said.
