In its 2022 list of the world’s most corrupt nations, U.S. News identified Russia as the winner of the dubious distinction. Alternatively, at the spectrum’s other end, the United States ranked 23rd among the least corrupt countries.
Looking at the data, the Biden administration’s open border agenda, which had a two-year track record by the time U.S. News conducted its polling, must not have been included in the survey. Had open borders been a variable, the U.S. should have earned a high spot among the most corrupt.
In the world’s history, no government has allowed unchecked millions to enter a sovereign nation against its citizens’ wishes, but paid for in full by those same citizens. Several million aliens have already entered the U.S. interior, flown or bused to destinations unknown where many, if not most, will become wards of the state. The arriving aliens need either jobs or affirmative benefits. Video clips taken at the border show that the gathered aliens are likely poor, non-English speaking and with limited skills. The few marketable abilities the migrants may have will put them in job competition with vulnerable black, Hispanic and other Americans among the country’s most needy.

Title 42 has ended, but the invasion will continue indefinitely. The United Nations estimates that in 2023 up to 400,000 migrants may cross the Darien Gap between Colombia and Panama on their way to the U.S. Southwest Border. The 400,000 total is almost certainly an underestimate.
In a television interview, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.)said that his Costa Rican, Panamanian and Colombian contacts told him that at least 500,000 people had gathered and were pressing north. The consequences, Rubio predicted, will be cataclysmic, and the resultant housing shortages could lead to riots and uprisings. “Mass immigration events are never good,” concluded Rubio.

As an example of how ill-advised mass immigration is, Rubio could have pointed to the Panamanian bus with 66 migrant passengers which fell off a cliff, killed at least 39 and gravely injured others. The migrants had traveled through the treacherous jungle of the Darien Gap and were on their way to the Southwest border. Many others, lured by Biden’s promise of asylum, have died in horrifying ways: 47 dead in an overheated 18-wheeler, and hundreds dead trying to cross the U.S.-Mexico border. Others have drowned as they swam across the Rio Grande River or perished in boating accidents on the way to Florida.
Border cities like El Paso and Yuma are under siege. An overwhelmed El Paso plans to bus migrants to New York where, in turn, Mayor Eric Adams promised to ship them to suburban Rockland Country which rejected them on the grounds that it cannot afford to house them. Yuma’s migrant surge has filled hospitals and prevented citizens from receiving care. On May 8 and 9, border patrol officials apprehended more than 20,000 migrants, a record. Agents also reported that an additional 4,700 migrants are classified as known got-aways which brings the total number of known border crossers for the two-day period to nearly 25,000 migrants. No one knows for certain who the migrants are, where their ultimate destinations are or what their intentions are.
During this fiscal year, agents along the Mexican and Canadian borders apprehended 70 migrants on the FBI’s terrorist watch list who crossed between ports of entry. The FY 22 record-breaking terrorist suspect apprehensions last year hit 98. With the multi-million total of incoming migrants, inadequately vetted, odds prohibitively favor more crime.
Except for his passing reference to the border crisis post-Title 42 as potentially “chaotic for a while,” Biden and his Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas have consistently refused to acknowledge the pain and suffering their policies have brought to American communities and to desperate migrants. Although Biden and his supporters view themselves and their border agenda as humane, it’s the furthest thing from that. Despite border-related fentanyl deaths, the human tragedies that migrants suffer while attempting to cross, sex trafficking and child labor crimes – among other horrors – the Biden administration, to its shame, refuses to change course, as it continues to harm America.
