Facebook Appears To Go Down As Texas Faces Hurricane Harvey
BREAKING: Several users self-reported that the social media site was having issues.

Facebook appeared to be down for users Saturday morning as Texans dealt with the effects of Hurricane Harvey, the storm that made landfall as a category 4 before being severely downgraded as it moved inland and which is now expected to bring devastating rainfall to the state.
Those relying on Facebook to get information from public safety officials and the media through Facebook as well as keep in touch with friends and family might encounter problems trying to do so. Patch also noticed that Facebook was down. On desktop, the page did not load altogether though the mobile app seemed to be providing better but limited functionality.
The website Down Detector, which tracks major outages, shows a big spike in outages self-reported by those using Facebook over the past hour.
