Texas Has Some Of The Highest Real-Estate Property Taxes
Owning a home in Texas is not cheap.

Texas has some of the highest real-estate property taxes in the country according to a report from personal-finance website WalletHub. The average American household spends $2,279 on real-estate property taxes and another $440 for residents of the 27 states with vehicle property taxes each year, the organization said in the report.
In order to determine who pays the most relative to their state, WalletHub analyzed data from the U.S. Census Bureau and each state’s Department of Motor Vehicles.
Texas ranked 7th, behind Vermont and ahead of Nebraska. The state with the highest real-estate property taxes was New Jersey.
