@therealmommamiaa describes her experience getting tattooed

@therealmommamiaa says she went to a local Shreveport tattoo artist to get a tattoo. But she walked out of the studio that day confused and uncomfortable.

@therealmommamia explained in her now deleted TikTok video that the artist’s communication fell off from the very beginning of their exchanges. When she got to the tattoo parlor, she recounted that she felt uncomfortable due to being unfamiliar with the area, as she’s from Texas, not Louisiana.

According to @therealmommamiaa, the tattoo artist grabbed her multiple times in ways that weren’t necessary for the tattoo. He also asked personal questions about whether or not she was single during the appointment.

“So he was like, ‘you got a man?’ And I was just [like] ‘oh my God.’ I just knew it was gonna start going downhill from there,” @therealmommamiaa told her viewers.

As she prepared to leave after tapping out, she says the artist delayed and blocked her exit. He grabbed her pants and commented on her underwear. @therealmommamiaa said she immediately moved his hand and left the studio.

Later, she posted about her experience at the parlor on Snapchat. She was surprised to find that many other women in her circle had similar experiences to her. The artist, according to @therealmommamiaa’s testimony, had a quiet reputation for inappropriate behavior with female clients.

@therealmommamiaa also stated that her tattoo was “[expletive] up” and asked whether or not the artist deliberately ruined her work because she wouldn’t yield to his sexual advances.

Who do the allegations refer to?

According to many viewers, the “shawn” that @therealmommamiaa refers to is Shawn Roberson, a tattoo artist based in the Shreveport area. Facebook commenters identified Roberson by his full legal name, with additional women coming forward on TikTok to claim that the allegations refer to him.

Facebook user Nene Gilbert recommended that other women who have had uncomfortable experiences with Roberson make a report to the Shreveport Police Department. Gilbert told her audience, “[@therealmommamamiaa] went to SPD… If other ladies [don’t] come forward [there’s] nothing they can do. If [you] want this to stop, go up there and make a new report!”

Roberson’s response to the allegations

In a video posted to his personal TikTok account on Dec. 8, Roberson alluded to the allegations and denied @therealmommamiaa’s accusations. “ [She is] trying to make [an incident] something that it ain't,” Roberson said. “'Why [would] you even want to come back to a person [for a tattoo] then [lie about the appointment].”

In the video, Roberson said that the only thing that @therealmommamiaa said that was truthful was that she tapped out. Roberson claimed he had video and text proof that @therealmommamiaa was lying, but did not provide them in his video. Multiple commenters asked Roberson to post the camera footage, from the incident, but he’s made no subsequent posts to his TikTok page.

Gilbert’s post leads to other women speaking up

The original post reached additional audiences on TikTok and Facebook, with many women sharing their alleged experiences with Roberson or expressing sympathy for @therealmommamiaa.
One person who saw the original video, Ashlee Caroline (@Ashleecaroline), posted a video that generated 124,000 views. In it, she said that @therealmommamiaa did “the right thing” by telling her story.

@therealmommamiaa confirmed in Ashlee Caroline’s comment section that she privated her original video. According to her, it was because “[she is] grown and human and can do that…”
Regardless, many people found Gilbert’s repost of the video. @therealmommamiaa also posted other women’s experiences with Roberson on her page.
