🌱 4th Of July Celebrations + Leander Pride Festival Backlash?

Here are the top three stories in Cedar Park-Leander today:

  1. Cedar Park and Leander will have 4th of July celebrations this year. "Cedar Park's July 4 Celebration" will be in Milburn Park on Jul. 4 from 4:00 p.m. until late in the evening. There will be a washer and cornhole tournament, carnival rides, laser tag, food trucks, fireworks at 9:15 p.m., and a showing of "The Lego Movie." "Leander's Liberty Fest 2022" will start at 2:00 p.m. at Lakewood Park on Jul. 4. The free event will have live music, food, and 9:30 p.m. fireworks. (Austin 360)
  2. Many towns in Central Texas held Pride celebrations for the first time this year, including Leander. There has been a lot of support from the community, sponsors, and social media, but there has been an increase in harassment as well. Despite the harassment, the Pride events drew huge crowds.   3. Cedar Park zip code 78641 was listed as one of the "18 Best Neighborhoods to Live in Austin in 2022." According to the article, Cedar Park is a great place to raise a family due to its proximity to several schools and parks, as well as being about 30 minutes away from Austin. (A Taste of Koko)
