5K And Kids Fun Run Raises Money For Austin BYU Students

CEDAR PARK, TX — Calling all runners and walkers, the 4th annual BYU Alumni Austin Cougar 5K and Kids Fun Run is back for another year of fun for the entire family. All are invited to attend, competitive, non-competitive and strollers welcome. The event will include a 5K and a 1/2 fun run at Brushy Creek Lake Park located at 3300 Brushy Creek Rd, Cedar Park, TX 78613. All proceeds raised will go toward scholarships for Austin BYU students.

Austin Cougar 5K is scheduled Saturday, Nov. 16 from 8 a.m. - 11 a.m. and Waffle Love will be at the event handing out delicious waffles to enjoy post-run. Participants will also have the chance to receive awards in one of the following categories: 5K-Top three Male & Female overall finishers; Top Male & Female finisher per category: 8-12, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, Masters, Top Stroller. Kids Fun Run - Top three overall finishers.

There will be a walk-up registration at 7:15 a.m. on the day of the event. Race drinks and snacks will be provided to registrants.

Event schedule:

• 7:15-8:15 am - Race day registration and Packet pickup
• 8:30 am - 5K Run starts
• 9:30 am - Kids Fun Run starts
• 10:00 am - Race Awards and Prizes

Registration Fees:

• Adult Runner: $25, includes T-shirt (or $30 after October 22, no T-shirt)
• Youth Runner $15 (ages 8-17), includes T-shirt before October 22
• Kids 7 and under are Free (T-shirt sold separetely, must be ordered by October 22)
