Austin Resource Recovery Hosts Virtual Summer Learning Events

As part of the Fix-It Home Austin series, participants are offered classes and workshops on how to repair household items.

CEDAR PARK, TX — If you 're looking for a new hobby or a fun learning opportunity, Fix-It Austin will host its Sewing: Basics By Hand to teach Austin-area residents valuable sewing skills in an effort to help keep items out of landfills. The workshop is part of Austin Resource Recovery and the Fix-It At Home series offering instruction on how to repair household items and learning other useful skills from the comfort of home.

The online class will be held Monday, July 20 from 4 p.m. - 5 p.m. and is designed for participants ages 12 and older. Maria Patterson, a professional seamstress for Stitch Texas with over ten years industry experience will facilitate the interactive class. Fix-It Austin will host a range of learning opportunities throughout the summer from learning to sew by hand (or machine) to bicycle repair or other household appliances.
