'Blue Santa' Program Seeks Donations In Cedar Park
Police are encouraging monetary and gift card donations this year, and food also will be secured for families impacted by the coronavirus.
CEDAR PARK, TX — The Blue Santa initiative by the Cedar Park Police Department is in full swing, and is seeking donations to buy toys for needy children. Against a backdrop of the coronavirus this year, the drive also aims to secure food for families in need as well, officials said.
This year has been exceptionally challenging for many families in our community, organizers noted. In order to limit physical contact with donated items, police are encouraging monetary and gift card donations this year. Click here to donate, or you may drop off cash, gift cards or checks, or mail a gift card or check.
Checks should be made payable to CPCPAAA (Cedar Park Police Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association). Donors are asked not to mail cash. The mailing and drop-off address for Blue Santa monetary donations is:

Donations for this year’s Blue Santa program must be received by Dec. 7. All donations to Blue Santa are tax-deductible, as the CPCPAAA is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization.
The toy distribution day is Saturday, Dec. 19, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

"In recognition of this difficult year, the Cedar Park Police Department is excited to announce its partnership with local non-profit group Gracie's Canned Goods, to collect holiday canned food items," officials said. Suggested canned items to donate are:
- Canned vegetables.
- Canned cranberries.
- Canned fruits.
- Stuffing mix.
- Canned pumpkin.
- Biscuit or roll mix.
- Canned or boxed potatoes.
- Gravy.
- Canned yams.
- Boxed pie crust.
- Canned fruit filling
Drop-off locations for canned goods are the Cedar Park Recreation Center, 1435 Main St., and the Cedar Park Public Library, 550 Discovery Blvd. For more information visit Cedar Park Police Department website.
