Brushy Creek Road Portion Closed To Investigate Fatal Crash
Stretch of roadway between Gupton Way Drive and Vista Ridge Boulevard to close for about three hours starting at 9 a.m. on Tuesday.

CEDAR PARK, TEXAS — Cedar Park police on Tuesday morning will close down eastbound lanes of Brushy Creek Road to further investigate a fatal car crash that claimed the life of a local teen the previous day, officials said.
The lanes between Gupton Way Drive and Vista Ridge Boulevard along the 1900 block of Brushy Creek Road will be closed at 9 a.m. to allow for a reconstruction of Monday's crash, police said. The stretch of roadway will remain closed for up to three hours.
"Our officers continue to investigate the deadly crash along Brushy Creek Road," Cedar Park Police Department spokeswoman Alicia Inns wrote in an email. "We are collecting as much data and evidence to help us understand what may have happened or lead up to this crash. Right now, we are investigating if speed may have been a contributing factor."

Drivers are asked to avoid the area if possible. Police previously closed the roadway in the immediate aftermath of the fatal crash on Monday, and will do so again Tuesday morning to continue their investigation.
Myles Hutcheson, 17, was killed early Monday when the car he was driving left the roadway and careened into an adjacent tree line. Hutcheson was a student at Vista Ridge High School, where he also played for the varsity basketball team.
