CapMetro's Cedar Park Buses Back In Service After One Caught Fire
Capital Metro pulled 28 of its charter-style commuter buses from service for inspection after one of them caught fire early Tuesday.

CEDAR PARK, TX — Capital Metro buses that were pulled from the road on Tuesday after one of the vehicles caught fire were cleared and returned to service on Wednesday, according to reports.
Capital Metro pulled 28 of its charter-style commuter buses from service for inspection after one of them caught fire at around 6:45 a.m., the Austin American-Statesman reported. The fire occurred on the U.S. 183A toll road on the way to Leander, officials said.
Only the bus driver was in the bus at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported. Crews shut down the highway for several hours after the bus leaked diesel fuel onto the road, according to the report.

A CapMetro spokeswoman told the newspaper the cause of the fire was mechanical, and a inspection of the bus is ongoing. This is the second major issue related to city buses. An investigation continues into a crash between two CapMetro buses on Friday in South Austin.
