Cedar Park Job Fair Offers Opportunities For Older Adults

CEDAR PARK, TX —One the fastest-growing populations of older adults across the nation can be found in Central Texas, and many of these older adults are in search of work. As a way to address this need, Austin and Cedar Park employers have teamed up to participate in the Cedar Park Job Fair designed for older job seekers.

AustinUP, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit will host this job fair event to help business leaders and human resource directors recognize the strengths of hiring older adults and the added value of offering a multigenerational workforce. Participating employers include Austin Community College "Digital Skills for Today's Jobs"; GlemcoHome Care Assistance; Home Instead Senior Care; PJS of Texas Inc.; ReServe, Inc; Right at Home Hill Country; U.S. Census Bureau; Welcome Wagon.

Previously, job fair attendees have expressed interest in knowing techniques to help navigate the interview process. This year's job fair will offer two perspectives on interviewing strategies, and attendees are invited to both. At 10:15 a.m., entrepreneur and public speaker Mike Trujillo will discuss "SWOT At Your Next Interview" and will explore ideas and ways in which the interview process can benefit you. At 11:15 a.m., Employment Consultant, Chip Sampson will present "The Interview Puzzle - How to Take Control of Your Interview". This presentation will help you decipher the interview process and learn how to take control of the interview in order to land the job.

Cost: Admission is FREE, but please RSVP via this Eventbrite form. The fee for exhibitors/employers is $50. Exhibitors must complete this form to register.
