Here are the top three stories today in Cedar Park-Leander:
- Round Rock Donuts, which serves a variety of doughnuts, pastries, kolaches, and drinks, opened its second location on Feb. 20 at 1614 E. Whitestone Blvd., Cedar Park. The bakery is known for its two-pound "Texas-Sized Donut" and is open daily from 5:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (Community Impact Newspaper)
- Jonathan Jefferson Ferris, 53, of Cedar Park, was found guilty of impersonating a federal officer. His sentence, which came last Wednesday, is a year in prison after he was convicted of impersonating an FBI agent while trying to fill a prescription for fentanyl patches. (KXAN.com)
- The Leander School District made headlines again after its Dec. 2021 decision to ban 11 books from libraries, including “The Handmaid’s Tale: The Graphic Novel” and “V for Vendetta,” popped up in recent banned book conversations. Libraries across the U.S. will observe Banned Books Week between Sept. 18 - 24, 2022. (Rappler)
