  1. Meet the three candidates running for Mayor of Cedar Park in the May 7 election. Claudia Chavez, 49, is an Army veteran and homeschool teacher; 48-year-old Mike Guevara is an attorney and a former Cedar Park council member; and 42-year-old Jim Penniman-Morin is a lawyer, current Cedar Park City Council member, and an Army veteran. "The city faces challenges with its success, including issues with traffic, sprawl, rising home prices, and the need to carefully manage its water and other public utilities," said Penniman-Morin. Guevara noted that residents are concerned with quality services without excessive tax hikes, and "keeping our identity as Cedar Park." (Austin American-Statesman)
  2. Bagdad Road in Cedar Park, between New Hope Drive and Whitestone Boulevard (RM 1431), is closed for emergency repairs to traffic signals. Closures began yesterday, Apr. 5, and could continue today, Apr. 6, 2022. The City of Cedar Park warns drivers to expect significant delays in the area.
