Cedar Park Rents 2nd Highest In Austin Metro Area: Report
Zumper analysts found cost to rent in the city was highest in a 7-city comparison for the month of October.
CEDAR PARK, TX — Rent costs in Cedar Park continue to rise — now ranked as the second highest in a 7-city Austin metro area.
The latest report by Zumper on apartment rental rates highlights the most and least expensive cities along with the ones with the fastest-growing rents. The data show that Cedar Park this month ranked as the second-highest most expensive city in the metro area, with the price of a one-bedroom unit growing by 2.7 percent to a median of $1,130.
For a two-bedroom apartment, renters shell out a median of $1,400, which is a slight drop of 0.7 percent, according to the report.

The findings represent a jump for Cedar Park rent from a previous Zumper study in April, which ranked the city fourth in a 13-city Austin metro comparison. Then, the price of one bedroom units grew 2.9 percent from last month to a median of $1,080, while two bedroom units increased 0.7 percent to to $1,410. The state median one bedroom rent was $960 last month, analysts found. Rental costs for a 1-bedroom unit in Cedar Park were down 1 percent from last year in the comparable period, according to the research.

- San Marcos ranked as the most affordable city with one bedrooms priced at $900.
- Round Rock was second with rent at $1,010.
- Leander ranked as third with rent down 1.9 percent to $1,040.
