Here are the top three stories today in Cedar Park-Leander:

  1. ViaGen, in Cedar Park, is a company that has been cloning cats and dogs since 2015 and is the only place in the U.S. where you can clone your pet. Lauren Aston, who works in ViaGen's marketing department, said it costs $35,000 to clone a cat and $50,000 to clone a dog and it is "extremely successful." Aston explained that a veterinarian does a skin biopsy, then sends the sample to ViaGen's lab, where they grow the cell and freeze it. The DNA can be taken anytime while the pet is alive and within five days of the pet's death. (The US Sun)
  2. On Mar. 20, English heavy metal band Judas Priest is playing the H–E–B Center in Cedar Park on their 50 Heavy Metal Years tour. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame-nominated group is celebrating "five decades of aggressive and iconic power metal." (Rock Cellar Magazine)
  3. Patch and Petfinder have partnered to bring you the latest list of pets up for adoption in the Cedar Park-Leander area. Meet Sable, a female puppy, or Mako, a male kitten, both at Texas Humane Heroes No Kill Animal Adoption Centers in Leander. (Cedar Park-Leander Patch)
