1. Williamson County Precinct Two Commissioner Cynthia Long won the 2022 Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Road Hand Award on Feb. 7! She received this recognition for her initiative in accomplishing important transportation programs in her communities. Long said she was "humbled" for the recognition and is "honored to represent a thriving and vibrant community that encourages [her] to solve transportation challenges." (Press Release Desk)
2. Wesley Lewis, a free-agent receiver from Leander, signed a contract with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, a Canadian Football League (CFL) team. At six feet 5 inches in height and 218 pounds in weight, 27-year-old Lewis is not one to mess around with. He has played in 11 career CFL games during the past two seasons. Everyone is very excited to see how he will perform in the coming seasons. (CKOM News Talk Sports)
3. The Cedar Park Timberwolves high school girl's basketball team won their second game against Georgetown yesterday with a final score of 50 to 24. Cedar Park's Shelby Hayes scored an impressive 16 points in the game. As they are heading into their postseason, the Timberwolves will have an undefeated 30-0 record.
