🌱 Construction On Discovery Blvd + Thieves Have USPS Master Key

First, today's weather:

Here are the top three stories today in Cedar Park-Leander:

1. From Mar. 14 to Mar. 18 the shopping center driveway on Discovery Boulevard, just north of Whitestone Boulevard, in Cedar Park will be under construction. Construction crews will reconstruct the driveway one half at a time to allow traffic to pass on the other half. (Press Release Desk)
2. Leander residents may be at risk for identity theft and mail fraud after thieves stole a U.S. Postal Service master key which can open all cluster mailboxes in Leander. A video shows two masked men opening a cluster of mailboxes with one key and stealing the mail on Mar. 4 at Crystal Falls HOA in Leander. Leander Police and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service are currently investigating. Authorities are advising residents to check their mail every day, "ideally during daylight hours, and be mindful of their surroundings." (KXAN)
3. Students at Canyon Ridge Middle School in the Leander ISD emailed Whataburger about how much they appreciated their seventh-grade science teacher and volleyball coach, Cody Redfern. Neha George, one of his students, said "he is kind, helpful, patient and a really fun teacher" and "the way he teaches is really unique yet extremely productive." Whataburger, Redfern's favorite restaurant, is throwing a party in his honor at 6 p.m. on Mar. 29 at the Steiner Ranch location in Austin. (KXAN)
