Here are the top three stories today in Cedar Park-Leander:

  1. The Cedar Park Police Department encouraged Cedar Park drivers to take precautions when driving this weekend. Cedar Park Police Chief Mike Harmon said, "Everyone should enjoy the Memorial Day weekend, but please do it without putting yourself and others in danger." Cedar Park police will be enhancing enforcement efforts to watch for any speeders, drunk drivers, red-light violators, and seat belt violators from Friday, May 27, to Monday, May 30. (FOX 7 Austin)
  2. Safe in Austin, located at 14601 Honeycomb Drive in Leander, is hosting "Memorial Day at the Rescue" from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on May 30. Participants can tour the property and meet rescue dogs, turkeys, chickens, rescue cats, a baby calf, goats, horses, and pigs. There is a minimum $35 donation per family. (The Austinot)
