Domestic Disturbance Leads To Standoff, Arrest In Leander

After reports of a woman screaming outside a home, police ultimately arrested 40-year old Brett Hill after an hours-long SWAT standoff.

LEANDER, TX — A domestic disturbance incident on Saturday in Leander led to an hours-long standoff that ended with a man's arrest, police said.

According to the Leander Police Department, officers responded to the 1400 block of Bess Cove amid reports of a woman screaming inside a home. Officers arrived just past 3:20 p.m. to find the woman with injuries, according to the police department.

Officers attempted to make contact with the man who had barricaded himself inside the home, police said. Just past 6 p.m., police reported they were able to coax the man out of the home with no incident. Police said Brett Hill, 40, subsequently was taken into custody, and is being charged with felony continuous family violence.
