Festival And Parade Kick Off Christmas Season In Old Town Leander

LEANDER, TX — The Christmas spirit will be on full display at the Old Town Christmas Festivalhosted by the Leander Chamber of Commerce on Saturday, Dec. 7 beginning at 11 a.m. The scheduled holiday activities include a full day that kicks off with the Old Town Rudolph Run, and continues with the Christmas Marketplace, Hometown Parade, pictures with Santa, live musical performances, delicious local food, and great craft vendors with several gift ideas for everyone on your Christmas list.

The Christmas Marketplace will be open in Old Town until 9 p.m., offering plenty of time for holiday shopping and will feature activities for young and old alike, including live music and theater productions. The Hometown Parade and Tree Lighting is a special event where local businesses, nonprofits, community partners, and city leaders partner for an evening Christmas parade through Old Town Leander that follows with a ceremonial tree lighting. The Parade and Tree Lighting is sure to delight neighbors of all ages, and bring the nostalgia and beauty of hometown Christmas celebrations.

As in previous years , the Leander Police Department, Hill Country Christmas Bureau and Leander Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association will partner to provide Christmas gifts to those in need. In early December, there will be a collection for new toys, bikes and other items that will be given to families so that they too may enjoy new gifts from Santa Claus.
