Jazz, Art Festival In Cedar Park Canceled Friday
Inclement weather prompts officials to nix event on Friday, but event is still on for Saturday, with music lineup, arts, crafts, more.
CEDAR PARK, TX — Planned Friday activities for Cedar Park's Jazz & Art on Main festival have been canceled as a result of inclement weather, officials said, but Saturday's lineup is still planned.
Recent heavy rains have prompted cancellation of events on Friday amid an ongoing flood watchfor the region effective until Saturday evening, officials said in a press advisory. But the show will go on on Saturday, according to city officials.
The music festival will return on Saturday, May 11, as scheduled from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. with performances from eight jazz ensembles and artwork for sale from more than 60 artists. Admission is free, and all ages are welcome. The festival is staged at the Cedar Park Recreation Center, 1435 Main St.

Family-friendly, the event will include several children’s activities such as a chalk wall, button making, a coloring station and an instrument petting zoo. Additionally, there will be food concessions for sale from Alzer’s Barbeque, Kona Ice, Cajun Skillet and Christine’s Gourmet Pralines.
Event sponsors include Master Yang’s World Class Tae Kwon Do, Lone Star Bath LLC, Spirit 105.9 FM, Cordovan Art School & Pottery Parlor and Strait Music. Attendees are welcome to bring a picnic, but glass containers are prohibited.

Art booths will feature paintings, mixed media, sculptures, woodwork, glasswork, jewelry and a variety of other handmade items. Artists and vendors include:
