Here are the top three stories in Cedar Park-Leander today:

  1. At the Jun. 2 meeting, the Leander City Council approved adding multifamily housing and additional parking space to a multisport complex development that was originally only for commercial use. The $22 million complex will include retail, office, entertainment, restaurant and residential space. Phase 1 of the project is expected to begin early next year. (Community Impact Newspaper)
  2. The East Link Trail, a 5.1-mile trail that connects Bartholomew Park up on 51st Street all the way down to Lady Bird Lake, is finally finished. The trail intersects with the Red Line at several points, including the MLK stop. Colin Wallis, CEO of the Austin Parks Foundation, said that a person “could easily commute in on the rail from Cedar Park, bring their bike" and then bike downtown or uptown. (KVUE)
  3. The Hearts Therapeutic Riding summer camp is located at 17000 Trails End Cove in Leander. Camp dates are Jun. 10, Jun. 17, Jul. 8, Jul. 15, Aug. 5, and Aug. 12. Trained instructors and volunteers teach horseback riding, playing games on horseback, fun teamwork, and learning horsemanship. (Cedar Park-Leander Patch)
