Here are the top three stories in Cedar Park-Leander today:
- The Jun. 11 Leander City Council runoff final election results confirm that David McDonald and Chris Czernek won seats on Leader City Council. McDonald won the Place 3 race with 62.8 percent of the vote, while the incumbent Czernek won the Place 5 race with 62.07 percent of the vote. (Community Impact)
- The lack of lifeguards across Central Texas is impacting community pools. Cedar Park is still looking to hire 22 fully-trained lifeguards, even after raising the pay from $9.40 to $14 an hour. The two bigger pools in Cedar Park are staffed, but smaller pools like Buttercup Pool are slated to only open on weekends due to a lack of lifeguards. (FOX 7 Austin)
- Zain Ali Muhammad, known professionally as Zain Hollywood, is a 9-year-old multisport athlete who became a famous internet sensation playing flag football with the Cedar Park Bulldogs Flag football organization at age six. Zain has an impressive collection of awards, medals, and recognition including a four-time World Champion in three different divisions.
