- A man who was involved in a deadly crash in Leander gets 7 years for manslaughter. Cody James Landrum, 25, pleaded guilty to two manslaughter charges. "Jeremy Moore, 49, and Angela Barry, 46" were on a motorcycle when they were hit from behind by Landrum. They both died at the scene of the crash. To learn more about this story, visit KXAN.
- An employee of a Leander liquor store fatally shot a man who allegedly stole bottles out of the store. Theft was reported at Leander Liquor around 9 p.m. on Wednesday. "Officers were told that three people took bottles from the shelves and exited without paying. The store clerk then fired the gun." Officials confirmed that 22-year-old Johnny Cabrera of Cedar Park matched the description of the reported theft, and died on his way to the hospital. KEYE TV CBS Austin has the full story.
- A Cedar Park man was sentenced to 20 years in prison for fentanyl distribution. "Jean Claude Meama-Kajue, 29, sold counterfeit Oxycodone containing fentanyl to a male subject in December 2020, coordinating the transaction over a social media app." The victim's autopsy showed he died of a fentanyl toxicity. - Cedar Park lawyer, Jonathan Ferris, was "convicted of impersonating FBI agent resigns from State Bar." Ferris entered a Temple pharmacy several times to fill an out-of-state fentanyl patch prescription. He was initially sentenced to one year in federal prison.
