- Cedar Park Police arrested a man in connection to the shooting and killing of 24-year-old Akira Ross. "Bradley Stanford, 23, is charged with one count of murder, a first-degree felony." At approximately 5:15 p.m. on Sunday, Cedar Park Police and San Patricio County Tactical Response Team arrested Stanford in Ingleside, Texas. The family of Akira Ross is searching for answers on why things ended up the way they did, as they mourn her. KVUE has the full story.
- Cedar Park's city zoning codes were amended at a May 30 meeting. Some examples of what's changing: Portable buildings added to zoning code for temporary use, "special use permits are now required for car washes, gas stations and private schools, and alcohol sales requirements for businesses were updated to reflect state law." - Hill Country Community Ministries in Leander is a food pantry that services families in Texas. Their supply goes as quickly as it comes in, and they are experiencing shortages amidst the extended state benefits (SNAP) have discontinued the additional $95 people were getting during the pandemic. Tiesa Hollaway of Hill Country Community Ministries recently wrote a $10,000 check to add more food to their shelves with the growing need from families new and old, that come for pantry items.
