Mexican Independence Day Celebration Features Virtual Festivities

The community is invited to experience a virtual celebration commemorating Mexico's independence and enjoy an afternoon of fun.

CEDAR PARK, TX — The community is invited to an online event in celebration of Mexican Independence Day with a full afternoon of livestream activities and contests to enjoy from home. Mexican Independence Day Celebration 2020 is a chance to experience the spirit of the festivities that go along with honoring the historic achievement, with audiences able to access the fun via Facebook.

As a result of COVID-19, most celebrations have been canceled to protect the community, but this year's Mexican Independence Day Celebration will still offer the same excitement and enthusiasm albeit via a virtual setting. The Facebook Live event will be hosted HERE on Sunday, September 13 from 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. For a chance to enter contests and opportunities to win great prizes, go to the Mexican Independence Day Celebration 2020 Facebook event page to post your photos and video links to share them with other event attendees and judges. All contest submissions must be made by 11:59 PM on Thursday, September 10th to be judged for prizes.

The Winner of Category 1 to 4 will get a $200 Prize per category, and the Winner of 5 & 6 will receive $500 each and a guaranteed spot in next year's 2021 celebration on the Square.
