  1. A new charter school is coming to Leander to meet the needs of its surging population. Harmony Public Schools has announced plans to build its eighth Central Texas school after the Leander City Council approved zoning and annexation of the 28-acre campus at 3250 Hero Way last week. The school system currently has campuses in Cedar Park, Austin, and Pflugerville and plans on opening the new Leander location for the 2023-2024 academic year. (KVUE.com)
  2. In Leander, students are forming book clubs to explore and discuss books that have been banned by their schools. Other students are attending school board meetings in protest of this ban. Many argue the ban targets books focused on race, gender identity, and sexual orientation. Texas parents and politicians say they are protecting their students. (KHOU.com)
