Online Event Discusses Promoting, Protecting Votes Amid COVID-19

The League of Women Voters Austin Area hosts an online discussion on what voting is expected to look like during the pandemic.

CEDAR PARK, TX —The League of Women Voters Austin Area and the National Council of Jewish Women of Austin invite the community to an online information session to learn about voting during the time of COVID-19 and gather important insight on becoming informed ahead of the upcoming elections. Promoting and Protecting the Vote during a Pandemic scheduled on Thursday, June 25 from 7 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. is a program about new voting processes during the COVID-19 pandemic with featured speaker Dana DeBeauvoir, Travis County Clerk.

DeBeauvoir will describe the new processes being developed in her office, including how they plan to protect voters and poll workers at in-person polling locations. Cinde Weatherby, LWV of Texas Issue Chair of Voting Rights and Elections, and Joyce LeBombard, LWV Austin Area Past President, will also be on hand discussing the broader perspectives of voting in Texas and how the League has been working to support voters' rights, including their work on the lawsuit over ballot by mail.
