Preschoolers 'Root For Earth' In Celebration of Earth Day

A Green Celebration to Create Awareness of Energy and Environmental Conservation

Children took part in a variety of eco-friendly activities in celebration of The Goddard School’s seventh annual Root for Earth campaign. Root for Earth serves to plant seeds of change to inspire children and families to create a happier, healthier earth for generations to come.

Children enjoyed activities such as gardening using biodegradable pods, creating catapults using recycled materials and participating in Bee pollination experiments.

The Goddard School integrates lessons that promote ecological conservation, as this subject matter falls within The Goddard School’s focus on areas of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math). At The Goddard School, environmental responsibility does not begin and end with Root for Earth. The play-based curriculum includes year-round, hands-on activities such as recycling and gardening that encourage children to take an active role in environment preservation.
