- Cedar Park Police are searching for man possibly involved in a shots fired incident on April 10. The incident occurred near the Lakeline and Cypress Creek area. "They are looking for a man in his early 20s, last seen wearing a yellow shirt, black sweatpants, black slides and white socks. He was also last seen walking near 1401 Medical Pkwy." This is an ongoing investigation, check with FOX 7 Austin for future updates.
- Rajan Zed of the Distinguished Hindu statesman urged LISD Superintendent Dr. Bruce Gearing to have all Leander ISD schools to close for the Hindu holiday, Diwali. Zed amongs other Hindus made points about how if other religions are catered to for their holidays, that important family holidays in the Hindu religion should also be given that respect so that students needs can be nurtured as well. - Leander ISD Elementary Language Curriculum Arts Specialist Andrea Greene is an educator who wants to relieve students of the tensions they have regarding standardized state tests. She says that it can be stressful and unfair to use the A-F grading score for one moment v.s. judging development over many days that students spend working in classrooms. "Greene said at its core, teaching is assessing, and she firmly believes in the power and importance of assessment and accountability."
