Suspect Arrested in Cedar Park Police Shooting Incident

Police last week were called to 11908 Anderson Mill after a man was shot in the leg after having had an argument with the suspect.

CEDAR PARK, TX — The man involved in a recent shooting incident in Cedar Park has been taken into custody, police officials said on Monday.

The arrest is the culmination of an incident that occurred last Tuesday (Nov 10) at around 8 p.m., according to a police advisory. Cedar Park Police Officers responded to 11908 Anderson Mill amid calls about a man who was shot in the leg, police said.

The victim told police he had been involved in an argument with the suspect the day before, according to the police report. The shooting victim was taken to a local hospital to be treated for his injury, officials said.

Police said it appears the suspect confronted the victim as he got home to the apartment complex before firing at him multiple times, striking him once in the leg. The suspect then fled the area and was not located after an extensive search, police said.

On Monday, William Belton Perry, 54, was taken into custody without incident by members of the U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, police said. Officials added that Perry was booked into the Williamson County Jail with a charge of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon — a 2nd Degree Felony.

"The Cedar Park Police Department would like to extend our gratitude to the Task Force with their assistance in taking the suspect into custody," officials said in a prepared statement.
