- An hours-long standoff in Cedar Park early Monday morning ended with a SWAT team taking a man into custody. 46-year-old Jon-Michael David Day was arrested and is facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. According to the Cedar Park Police Department, the suspect was involved in a family violence incident involving a weapon and refused to come out of the home. The Central Texas Regional SWAT team and negotiators were then called in; Day eventually surrendered following a six-hour negotiation. (KXAN.com)
- The May 7 statewide and local elections are coming up quickly, and eligible Texas voters have until this Thursday, Apr. 7 to register. In addition to the Cedar Park Bond Election, voters can participate in the statewide constitutional amendment election regarding property taxes. Early voting takes place between Apr. 25 and May 3; Texans can also return to the polls on May 24 for the primary runoff election. (Fort Bend Herald)
