Texas vs. Oklahoma Football Travel Guide: If You're Going From Cedar Park/Leander

The Red River Rivalry needs no introduction.

The Longhorns may not be off to the best start (we don’t have to talk about that), but anything can happen when Texas and Oklahoma meet in their annual rivalry held at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas.

Adding some more spice to things, Oklahoma starting quarterback Baker Mayfield is from Austin and went to Lake Travis High School.

Whether you’re making the road trip to the game or watching from home, here’s everything you need to know.

Kickoff time: 11 a.m. CT

TV and Radio: ABC, Austin Radio Network

Point spread: Oklahoma is favored by 16.5, according to Scores and Odds.

Tickets: Tickets were not available through Texas’ website but can be purchased through StubHub here and a host of other ticket resellers.

What not to bring into the stadium

Prohibited items at Cotton Bowl Stadium include: all Bags, including backpacks; Purses that exceed 10” x 10”; all weapons of any sort; alcoholic beverages of any kind; cameras with detachable lenses greater than 10”; food and beverages and strollers.

How to get there

Take Interstate 35E North to downtown Dallas. Take exit 428B to connect to Interstate 30 East (toward Texarkana), then take exit 48B and follow directions to Fair Park.

Google Maps pegs the trip at about two hours and 50 minutes, but allow yourself extra time for increased game-day traffic.

Parking

Parking in official State Fair lots is $15 per space.

The annual Torchlight Parade is set for 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Main Mall on the UT campus. Head coach Charlie Strong and the team will be on hand at approximately 8:30 p.m.
