Here are the top three stories in Cedar Park-Leander today:

  1. Throughout Texas, there is rumored to be an estimated $340 million worth of buried treasure. According to one legend, in the 1920s the Comanche tribe were chasing a train of men and pack mules carrying a very large load of silver, and the men buried the silver outside of Leander to keep it from being stolen. According to Lone Star Treasure, the story is based on a Spanish document from the conquistador era. While the silver has not been found yet, Lone Star Treasure reported that a ruby arrowhead weighing 15 karats and several other gemstones were found by W.E. Snavely of Taylor in 1925. 2. The Cedar Park High School baseball team will advance to the next round after winning game two of the series on Saturday. CPHS won 6 to 1 against the Tigers in game one and 9 to 1 in game two. (Hays Free Press)
