1. Cedar Park-based company ViaGen Pets has a huge waiting list for an unconventional service: cloning cats and dogs. To obtain the DNA sample, a veterinarian performs a non-invasive skin biopsy on the pet, then sends the sample to ViaGen's laboratory to be grown and frozen. When the owner is ready to clone their furry friend, the nucleus of the donor egg is swapped with that of the frozen cell, producing an embryo to be implanted in a surrogate. (News18)
2. Rock band Shinedown has announced dates and locations for its 2022 U.S. Tour, featuring Jelly Roll and John Harvie. The musicians are scheduled to stop at the H-E-B Center in Cedar Park on Oct. 2. Artist pre-sales begin today (Mar. 22) at 10:00 a.m., with venue and radio station pre-sales beginning tomorrow (Mar. 23). (BLABBERMOUTH.NET)
