Virtual Conference Offers Resources To Ease Caregiving Challenges
The Williamson County Caregiver Conference is an online event offering information and vital resources for caregivers of aging loved ones.
CEDAR PARK, TX — AGE of Central Texas will host its 7th annual Williamson County Caregiver Conference, and is offered as a way to help ease the challenges of caring for an aging family member by providing unpaid caregivers with relevant information and vital resources. The free online event gives participants opportunities to explore local resources, acquire skills to better manage their caregiving situation, and connect with local experts on the topic of aging.
The virtual conference kicks off Tuesday, September 15 at 10 a.m. and runs through Thursday, September 17 at 1 p.m., with this year's conference featuring a keynote presentation by Dr. Barry J. Jacobs, Psy.D., speaking on “Promoting Positive Caregiving - Even During Tough Times.” Dr. Jacobs is a clinical psychologist and family therapist, and one of the country’s leading thinkers, writers, and educators on family caregiving. As an author, his books and magazine columns utilize the knowledge gained from personal experiences as a child of a family caregivers, the writing skills honed in his years as a magazine journalist, and professional expertise gleaned during nearly 22 years as a clinician specializing in families and illness.
AGE of Central Texas is a regional nonprofit organization that provides education and support to people all along the spectrum of growing older, no matter where they are on that journey. Each year, AGE serves more than 3,000 older adults and caregivers through its primary interrelated programs:

Registration for the Williamson County Caregiver Conference is free, and includes all presentations and resources. Registration is now open and space is limited.
