WilCo Animal Shelter 'Bursting At The Seams' With Adoptable Pets

Starting Friday through Jan. 18, large adult dogs and adult cats can be adopted for $3. Fosters also are in high demand, officials said.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TX — Officials at the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter report the facility is "bursting at the seams" with animals of all sizes, ages and personalities longing for forever homes.

Residents are encouraged to make 2021 the year they adopt their 'new love' by taking advantage of adoption specials, officials said in an advisory. Starting Friday through Jan. 18, large adult dogs and adult cats can be adopted for $3.

All adoptable pets are listed on the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter. Interested residents are directed to email adoption@wilco.org to set up an appointment.

While the animal shelter's goal is to get animals adopted, officials said fosters also are needed at this time. All medium and large dogs and adult cats aged 1 year and over — which are up to date on their vaccinations, have been spayed or neutered and are microchipped — are eligible to be fostered, according to shelter officials. Email eduran@wilco.org to learn more about the animal shelter's fostering program.
