1. Williamson County is hosting a career fair on Thursday, March 3, from noon to 6 p.m. to help job seekers find a meaningful career working to in the community. The career fair will take place at the Williamson County Georgetown Annex, located at 100 Wilco Way in Georgetown. (Press Release Desk)
2. After impersonating an FBI agent in 2019, a Cedar Park man has been sentenced to a year in prison. Johnathan Jefferson Ferris, 52, was convicted last June on two counts of impersonating a federal agent after evidence presented during the trial revealed Ferris entered a Temple pharmacy looking to fill an out-of-state prescription for fentanyl patches on multiple occasions in July and August in 2019. 3. On Monday, the Chaparral Ice and Field in Cedar Park facility was repossessed, according to the owners. In a letter on the skating rink’s website, owners said they were “shocked and devastated” when their bank made the loan balance due immediately and they received a lease termination from landlords on the same day. The ice rink will now be operated by a new entity, according to a statement from Crossover management. (KXAN.com)
