Deer Startles Woman Inside Her Home In Montgomery County
A baby doe that followed a woman into her home on Friday afternoon may have been kept as a pet, officials said.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX — A Montgomery County woman had a close encounter with an unwelcome guest after a female deer followed her into her home on Friday afternoon, police said. Montgomery County Sheriff's deputies were called to a home in the Peach Creek Forest Subdivision about the deer situation.
As deputies were pulling up to the home, they saw the young doe leaving the house. Cindy Callaway, who owns the home, said she was in her garage locking up her 4-wheelers, when she felt something or someone nudge her. Callaway said she turned and screamed when she saw the deer. She ran into her home and was surprised to see the deer in her dining room.
Deputies noticed that the deer was unafraid of them and even came up to them as they waited for a Montgomery County Livestock Officer and Texas Parks and Wildlife, according to the Montgomery County Police Reporter.

Officials believe the deer was kept as a pet and somehow escaped. Wildlife officials were able to tranquilize the doe and took her Lake Houston State Park, where she was released.
