CONROE, TX — A man who was recorded on a Conroe Police officer's body camera shooting at the officer during a traffic stop was sentenced to 50 years in prison. Raymond Cole Lynch, 28, pleaded guilty to assault on a public servant on Tuesday and was sentenced, officials announced Wednesday.
On March 27, Cole was pulled over by a Conroe Police officer on in Interstate 45 and Gladsell Road because the black Lexus he was driving had a defective tail light, police said.
As the officer came along to the drivers side window, Cole pointed a pistol at the officer and fired at least once. The bullet ricocheted off the officer's flashlight. The officer fired back, but Cole managed to escape.
