Man Who Duped Harvey Flood Victims Sentenced To 75 Years
Todd Neuwirth, 41, was pulled over for speeding in September and caught with the identities of people whose homes were destroyed by Harvey

CONROE, TX — A man who duped numerous Hurricane Harvey victims and stole their identities, is on his way to state prison.
Todd Neuwirth, 41, was sentenced on May 25 to felony tampering with government documents and felony fraudulent possession of identifying information.
Prosecutors said Neuwirth had 12 previous felony convictions for fraud and possession of a controlled substance, one of which included a federal conviction for bank fraud in 2013.

Splendora Police pulled Neuwirth over on Interstate 69 on Sept. 15, 2017 for speeding and for weaving in and out of traffic.

According to court documents, the officer said Neuwirth was "nervous and evasive" when he was asked questions during the traffic stop.
Splendora Police Officer Michael St. Romaine said that his K9 Partner "Ordy" detected narcotics in Neuwirth's car.
A search revealed a digital scale that contained methamphetamine residue, as well as three scanners, employment applications, blank checks, credit cards and other identifying information from the homes of people who were cleaning up after Hurricane Harvey.
Neuwirth was sentenced to concurrent sentences of 75 years.
Neuwirth is being held in the Montgomery County Jail pending transfer to a Texas Department of Corrections facility.
