Parents Of Disabled Teen Charged With Injury To A Child
Jason and Jamie Joyner are both being held in the Montgomery County Jail charged with injury to a child.

ROMAN FOREST, TEXAS — The parents of a 17-year-old are facing charges of injury to a child after officials at Texas Children’s Hospital contacted police about possible abuse, police said. Jason Joyner, 38, and his wife Jamie Joyner, 35, the boy’s step-mother, were arrested Friday and are being held in the Montgomery County Jail with their bond set at $100,000.
Roman Forest Police said they were contacted by officials at Texas Children’s Hospital in The Woodlands and reported that the 17-year-old boy weighed only 62 pounds and had bedsores. Police said the boy, who was brought in by his parents in August, has gained 20 pounds since arriving at the hospital.
The boy, who has muscular dystrophy, was brought to the hospital by the Joyners after the feeding tube port became infected, the boy’s grandfather said.
