Woman Who Tried To Sell Daughter For Sex Gets 40 Years In Prison

Sarah Peters, 25, pleaded guilty to promoting prostitution, sexual performance of a child, and attempted human trafficking.

CONROE, TX -- A woman who tried to sell her 2-year-old daughter for sex was sentenced to 40 years in state prison Thursday.

Sarah Peters, 25, pleaded guilty to promoting prostitution, sexual performance of a child, and attempted human trafficking, all of which are felony charges.

Earlier this year, Peters met with undercover investigators with the Montgomery County Precinct 1 Constable's Office, and entered into an agreement to sell her daughter for $1,200 to a man who would have sex with the child.

On Feb. 22, Peters was arrested at the Greyhound Bus station in Conroe where she'd agree to meet to complete the sale of the toddler.

Peters was taken to the Montgomery County Jail, where she was held until her trial.

The child was placed in protective custody.

Peters remains in the Montgomery County Jail until her transfer to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

She will be eligible for parole in 2038.
