- Agape Ranch, a foster care organization in South Texas, received a $496,000 donation from the Charity League of Corpus Christi. The donation will be used to build a high-capacity home in the ranch neighborhood to support foster and adoptive families and keep sibling groups together. Agape Ranch Director of Operations Melissa Faux praised the women of Charity League for their love of the community and support for vulnerable children. (KIIITV)
- The Corpus Christi City Council has approved additional funding of $3.5 million to repair the Watergarden, a local water park that was damaged by Hurricane Harvey in 2017. The total cost of the project now amounts to nearly $9 million. The repairs will include fixing the flood damage, upgrading mechanics, installing LED lighting, and modernizing the park. The goal is to have the Watergarden operational again by the end of the year. (KRIS 6)
- With the expiration of Title 42 on May 11, the number of asylum seekers at the border has increased. Migrants must now demonstrate that they have applied for asylum online or through another country or risk a five-year ban from the US and possible felony charges. Donations of bottled water can be made at the Corpus Christi American Federation to support those in need. (KRIS 6)

- The 2023 Bells by the Bay Carillon Series will kick off on May 14 at First Baptist Church's front lawn, featuring carillonneurs Alex Kirkland and Loyd Lott. The concert will showcase a variety of musical genres including folk songs, hymn tunes, and carillon compositions. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets and donations to support the Glasscock Memorial Carillon and bell tower maintenance. (Caller Times)
- Painting With A Twist is hosting the first Mommy and Me Tea Party on Saturday. This interactive painting class will offer free cupcakes and tea and is a great way to celebrate Moms this weekend. (Painting With A Twist)
- According to recent data, the state of Texas had the tenth-highest rate of U.S. teen driver fatalities in 2022. Bumper.com reports that “young drivers are statistically more likely than other age groups to be involved in fatal accidents.” (Bumper.com)
