Here are the top three stories today in Corpus Christi:

  1. The McCampbell-Porter-Ingleside Airport in Corpus Christi houses the Maxine Flournoy Third Coast Commemorative Air Force Museum, which aims to preserve the memories and oral histories of U.S. veterans. The museum showcases exhibits honoring war heroes like Bob Edlin, a significant figure in the United States Army during World War II. Mark Lincecum will present exclusive audio recordings of Edlin's military missions and experiences during a special lecture at the museum on May 20. (KRIS 6 News Corpus Christi)
  2. The executive director of the Port of Corpus Christi Authority, Sean Strawbridge, is under scrutiny for his excessive spending. 6 Investigates found that Strawbridge and senior port staff have been racking up large credit card bills, including lavish expenditures on meals, drinks, and snacks. In fact, the port spent over $200,000 on a trip to Israel, with a significant portion going toward alcohol. Strawbridge, the highest-paid local government employee, has denied any unethical behavior or misuse of funds.   3. A 22-year-old man named Hayden Brooks was killed in a motorcycle crash on Saturday near Bill Witt Park in Corpus Christi. The crash occurred around 5:00 p.m. on Yorktown Boulevard. According to witnesses, Brooks was traveling at a high speed when he lost control of the motorcycle and collided with a pole. No other vehicles were involved in the accident, and Brooks was wearing a helmet at the time. (Caller-Times)
