Here are the top three stories today in Corpus Christi:

  1. Texas anglers in Corpus Christi have the opportunity to win exciting prizes, including a new truck and boat, an all-terrain vehicle, a boat and trailer package, and college scholarships, through the Coastal Conservation Association (CCA) of Texas' annual STAR tournament. The State of Texas Anglers Rodeo (STAR) tournament runs from 6:00 a.m. on Saturday until 6:00 p.m. on Labor Day. Anglers must be CCA Texas members and registered in the tournament to be eligible for the prizes. Additionally, the tournament offers significant scholarships to youth and teens. (Texas Farm Bureau)
  2. The USAA Poppy Wall of Honor, a temporary installation paying tribute to over 645,000 American servicemembers who sacrificed their lives since World War I, will be displayed on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. for Memorial Day weekend. USAA is also bringing smaller poppy exhibits to the USS Lexington Museum in Corpus Christi offering a similar educational and commemorative experience. These exhibits aim to honor the fallen and provide opportunities for remembrance and reflection. (KNSS)
  3. A mother from nearby Orange Grove discovered a white stamp on her car window and became concerned about why it was placed on her car. Speculation on social media suggested that the stamp was a method of tracking vulnerable individuals for trafficking. However, after researching the matter, Sharon Ray of New Life Refuge Ministries clarified that the white stamps are not related to human trafficking but advised individuals to report any suspicious markings on their vehicles.
